Furniture Refinisher or Upholsterer

Dear Ida - In one of your Share the
Wealth missives you asked about a good furniture refinisher. Sarah Johnson
use to be a tenant at our small industrial park in Richmond and is a first
class furniture refinisher and restorer. She has moved to Marin County but
I think will pick up furniture. She did work for us and she is first
class—we were both highly satisfied. He number is 415-317-2490. (March,

I'd like to add a recommendation to the
services section. Upholsterer:
Gail Brooks in Martinez did a great job on upholstering a chair, making
seat cushions to order, recovering dining room chairs, etc. She is in

Ida, some time ago we used Laverty's
Upholstery, 767 23rd Street. 233-4945. His name is Patrick I think and he
will pick up and deliver. We went to the shop to pick out the fabric. I
thought his work was very good and prices fair. (December, 2006)

Poppy's at Broadway and 51st in Oakland and runs several workshops around
and about where the actual work is done. Pricey, but then the work is
