Best Gooey BrowniesFrom Anne Cicora
This recipe came from a friend who was a SERIOUS chocoholic! 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk 1/2 pound plus 2 Tablespoons butter 2 1/4 cups brown sugar firmly packed 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 2 cups flour 1 tsp. salt 3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly oil 13" X 9" baking dish. In large saucepan over low heat, melt the chips with the milk and 2 Tablespoons butter while stirring slowly. Remove from heat, cool slightly, scrape into large bowl. Melt remaining butter, stir in sugar and add to the chocolate mixture. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir in vanilla, flour, salt (and nuts if desired). Bake 30-35 minutes. Do not over-bake. Serve warm or at room temperature. Makes 24 brownies.
