Tart au CitronFrom Ida Abelson
A very simple, yet elegant dessert. If you love lemon, you will love this recipe!
Shell
1/2 cup melted
butter
1/4 cup powdered
sugar
1 1/4 cup flour
Preheat oven to 350
Combine all
ingredients and press into 11 inch tart pan.
Bake 15-20 minutes
until golden. Cool to the touch. (Hint - leave oven on. By the time you've
mixed together the filling, the shell will be cool enough to fill and
bake.)
Filling
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup lemon juice
3/4 tsp. baking
powder
Preheat oven to 350
Beat together all
ingredients (can be mixed in a blender). Pour into tart shell. (Hint - to
make life easy, place the tart shell on the oven rack and then pour in the
filling.)
Bake 15-20 minutes
until firm.
Just before serving,
sprinkle with powdered sugar.
