Plumber Recommendations

We've been using 'Val Betti Plumbing' of Richmond for years and can, once again, recommend them to everyone here at BYL as a plumbing contractor that is very competent in their approach our plumbing issues.  After noticing signs of the impending failure of a wax-ring at the base of one of our toilets (everyone above us is paying attention to this too, right?), we decided to go ahead and replace both our awful "CW" brand builders model toilets with something up-to-date.  A call to Val Betti and Vince (Betti) told us of their flat-rate (inclusive of installation and tax) for installation of toilets here.  We decided on a nice quality "ECO Drake" model of the TOTO brand with an elongated bowl to replace our two crummy old round CW models.  Vince knew it was a good fit as both its footprint and height work well within our needs here at BYL (i.e. we have a vanity extension above one of the tanks which limits the overall height of one of our toilets).  The all-inclusive price for these was $550 each (though we got an upgraded version which made ours slightly more).  Vince ordered them on a Monday morning and he and is brother Val (yes there really is a 'Val Betti' - this one is the Grandson of the founder) installed them here on Wednesday morning in less than one hour.  They couldn't have been nicer or more professional.  Great service and wise support.  Oh, and by the way, for those of you who still have the old CW models - Val Betti's carry a few replacement CW tanks, lids & things if you ever break yours.  - Rob Van de Loo B-115 (March, 2011)

Last year we had both of our toilets go out at different times.  We called Fazule & Sons plumbing, 510.534.5480, in Oakland.  They were prompt, efficient (talkative, but working all the while!) and did a thorough clean up.  They installed Toto one piece toilets which we bought from (I think) Rosenbloom's Plumbing Supply in Oakland.  A true plumbing supply store that will order it for you if what you want is not in stock.  Or you can order Toto toilets on line.  Their official website lists all of their products and they were rated #1 by Consumer Reports.  They are absolutely the best functioning and being one piece they are much easier to clean.  Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about the plumber or toilets.Paige Harrison Adcock. zebalex1@aol.com  (June, 2009)

We used Drainman Pro (925-625-7661) and were very satisfied. (March, 2006)

I can whole heartedly recommend the service department at the Lunt Marymor Company for anyone's plumbing service needs, and their construction department for plumbing remodels, big and small. I'm a bit prejudiced in their favor, as I own the company, but don't take my word for it - check out what the Good Service Guide has to say: www.goodserviceguide.com/guide/oakland_berkeley/home_improvement/plumber/106 .Just call Roger in the service department and tell him your neighbor sent you!Regards,Leigh Marymor (June, 2005)

I had a good plumber, Fazule & Sons Plumbing, 510-534-5480, who recently did a good job of detective work on  a leaking toilet.  Also they have a senior discount and reasonable rates. (January, 2004)

I used Val Betti, MacDonald Ave, Richmond, 232-5593, to run my water line from the kitchen to the deck. Gave me an estimate, which they adhered to, courteous plumber on site, good clean work and cleanup. (January, 2004)

Do not use the plumber that Bob Bray used for official BL jobs. I don't recall his name, but he really messed up my place w/o fixing the problem. Then he sent Bob Bray a big bill for his shoddy repair job. Perhaps someone else around here recall that plumber's name.... boycott him. Val Betti 232-5593 rings a bell with me.  I think they put in a garbage disposal for us just fine. (January, 2004)

Val Betti Plumbing (510) 232-5593, recently did some work for me (fixed a leaking toilet tank, installed new faucets, and replaced pipes under bathroom sink) ... they were excellent. (February, 2005)
