Mover Recommendations
For moving I used Stu Miller, and although his name is already on the
list of movers recommended, I would like to add my support. His team
arrived and packed all my things, including the books, then unpacked
them on arrival and put them on the same shelves where they had been
before. They were incredibly efficient: from arrival at my old place to
finishing at the new place was 5 1/2 hours. (January, 2012)

I recently moved from BYL to Novato. I chose a moving company that was recommended by a BYL resident and they were absolutely AMAZING. They showed up on time, were pleasant and friendly, fast, efficient, and super careful, AND their price was less than half of the other movers I contacted. I can honestly say without any hesitation that Ahmed’s Moving Express in San Rafael is among the best moving companies in the Bay Area and I would definitely use them again. We were extremely happy with Delancey Street Movers. They were very detail oriented, careful with our things and were on time! We just used "Movin' Mark" (Mark Halverstadt of Martinez). Cell: 925-408-4896. His cost was 1/3 of a quote we got from a United Van Lines affiliate. He came highly recommend to us and we, in turn, recommend him to our Brickyard neighbors. (July, 2008)

Graf Van & Storage - affiliated with United Van Lines. They are at 415/479-6262. The team that a friend had used and recommended that I request ( Steve, Sam and Moses ) were just fabulous. They were very careful, positive, service oriented - and they came in under the estimate. I had done all I could up front to prepare for them, but I moved from a rather 'nasty' driveway and two flights of outside stairs to reach the place. I highly recommend them. (July, 2004)

We had a fairly bad experience with Ben's Movers when we moved. They were late, flustered with a broken truck (understandable), and damaged a number of pieces of furniture, one of which we are quite sure they knew about at the time. We were too exhausted to deal with it, so we don't know how well or poorly they handle damage claims. They asked us to sign a waiver at the end of moving day (when we would have only noticed if the couch had been broken in two pieces)--probably standard, but there is a chance they would have responded to our complaints more gracefully than they handled that particular day. (September, 2004)
