Jewelry Appraisal Recommendations

With the recent news segments about the price of gold escalating, I gathered a few pieces of jewelry we no longer wear or want and did some Internet searching of firms in San Francisco that buy gold jewelry.  After visiting a few and getting estimates, we sold to the one who gave us the highest offer:  Oxbridge House, 2001 Van Ness Avenue, Suite 411, San Francisco, 415-409-6086.  No appointment necessary; open Mon-Fri 10 am. - 4:30 pm.  Mr. Roy Polyak was exteremely professional and polite. Hi Ida - A resident asked about jewelry appraisals.  Here's an option.  Clars Auction Gallery (Telegraph Ave., Oakland, 510-428-0100) conducts free appraisal clinics every Thursday morning from 9AM to noon.  Free verbal appraisals are provided by specialists of fine arts, jewelry, furniture and decorative arts.  Each person can bring up to five items.
