Hot Ginger LemonadeFrom Rosemarie Petitpas
This recipe comes from an article in the New York Times, dated October 22, 1997, on cold remedies. I've used it with great success and passed it on to many friends. It is especially good for soothing sore throats. Grate fresh ginger (no need to peel it first) using the large holes of a grater until you have 2 Tablespoons. Place into a teapot. Pour in 2 cups of boiling water, cover and steep 5-10 minutes. Strain out the ginger and add a Tablespoon of honey, 2 Tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Stir, drink and get better!
